Benedette Yakowa

Born in Kaduna, Nigeria on the 21st of April 1986 to Sir Patrick Ibrahim and Dame Amina Elizabeth Yakowa, Benedette, fondly called Daah, completed her primary and secondary education in Nigeria before moving to Canada.

Last amongst four siblings, Benedette obtained her first degree in Economics from the University Toronto after which she started her career in Canada. Few years later she returned to University of Sheffield for a masters in International Management. Benedette has worked across different sectors both in public and private sectors in Nigeria and Canada over the last 12 years, specializing in project management, operations and change management. She is currently working in the corporate services and operations division of Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority.

Benedette is passionate about supporting young people. She mentored trafficked youth living in a shelter, homeless or at risk for over 3 years in Toronto. Outside of her very busy life schedule, Benedette has 2 young children in a happy marriage with Martin Kabiru Zidon-Fwa.
