Saratu Yakowa née Danjuma was born on the 19th of February 1987 and is the daughter of Mr Musa Danjuma and the late renowned lawyer Dr Nkiru Nzegwu- Danjuma. She completed her A- Levels at Roedean School, Brighton, UK before obtaining both her Law Degree (LLB) and Masters in Commercial Law (LLM) from the University of Bristol, UK.

She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012 and has almost 10 years of Corporate Legal Practice Experience having commenced her Legal Career at the Law Firm of Legal Luminary Prof. Fidelis Oditah QC SAN and following that, practiced both as a Litigator and as In-House Counsel/Company Secretary in the Oil and Gas Industry. She is a member of both the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the International Bar Association (IBA). She enjoys writing and performing Spoken Word Poetry and has hosts her own Poetry Events to support charitable causes. She is happily married to Mr Peter Jatau Yakowa.
