Rose YAKOWA was born in Kaduna State to Sir Patrick Ibrahim and Dame Amina Yakowa on the 9th of July 1980. The 2nd Child of 4 children and the friendliest of them all. She attended her primary school in Kaduna State and moved to Abuja for her Secondary education. She attained a Bsc Political Science and International Relations degree from the University of Abuja, Nigeria.

Background

Her lofty diplomatic career has seen her rise through the ranks from being a desk officer for Canada in 2008 to serving at the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington D.C for her training/attachment in 2011. Rose has also held positions as the desk officer at the Industry, Trade, and Investment Section at the Nigeria High Commission in London from where she rose to become the Head of Chancery, an officer responsible for the Administration of the High Commission; amongst other positions. Rose worked at the office of the Honourable Minister and is currently a Minister Counsellor/Head of Chancery at the Nigeria High Commission in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Highly sociable and widely traveled, Rose speaks Hausa and English fluently, with a working knowledge of French. She enjoys traveling, listening to music, reading, and making new friends.
